Credit Counselling: Helping Nova Scotians Get Out of Debt
Credit counselling and debt relief needs vary greatly from one person to another. We tailor our counselling sessions to meet your specific needs, to help you get out of debt. From our offices in Halifax, Kentville and Digby, we serve clients across HRM and the Annapolis Valley, including Halifax, Dartmouth, Bedford, Kentville and elsewhere in Nova Scotia.
We will review your budget with you. We will help you learn how to find out exactly where your money goes each month. With that goal achieved, we will help you analyze the budget and figure out if there are any places you can save money and reduce expense. Budgeting the money you have each month is another skill we will help you improve and get the relief you need. Setting financial goals and strategies to achieve them will also be discussed as we work towards helping you get you get your financial situation back on track and, ultimately, get out of debt. We will also help you learn about future credit use and credit reestablishment. There are many aspects to credit counselling and they take months to be fully realized.
Under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act it is mandatory for people who file either a consumer proposal or bankruptcy to attend two financial counselling sessions. These sessions are conducted individually and are very informative and helpful in getting people out of debt and back on the path to financial stability.
